And uh, this is the Gertrude Stein dress by Kate and Kass (which I very much want but not why I'm showing you the picture, though if you *insist* on buying it for me I'll write you a thank you note in my very best handwriting):
I am a sucker for anything with a literary reference which is why I was drawn to this dress, but I fail to see the connection between a prickly Jewish lesbian writer and a floaty, ruffled summer dress. It's possible that this was inspired by the frothy garments the authoress wore as a bourgeois toddler or the designers were referring to another Gertrude Stein, in which case just make like Lauren Conrad and use the first name, y'know?
